Rainy day!

Today was one of the first days we got rain. It has been getting more warm and humid, but it will hopefully cool off a bit. The warmer weather motivated us to buy a fan for Jess' room (as it is hotter in her third floor room). We had to walk downtown to buy a fan along with some notebooks for class and a bucket to wash clothes in. One of the great things about Prague is that even though the weather is currently hot and muggy, there are very few insects. The windows here don't have screens so you can just open all the windows in your room and enjoy the breeze. The fan will come in use as the summer goes on and the days get a bit warmer.

Today was our first day of class. Our teacher, Melissa seems like a really "cool" gal. She is very intelligent and we are both very excited to learn about international relations in Prague. Although Melissa is usually a professional and articulate person she drops the "F Bomb" quite a bit.

The rest of our day was spent exploring a few sections of town. We went to a very tasty place called "Bohemia Bagel". We were able to walk there through the park (called Letna) next to our Hostel. This is the same park where Zach went on his first long run since we have arrived. After we went to Bohemia Bagel it began to pour down rain. We walked through the rain to Wenceslas Square and shopped at many different department stores. For the fan, we had to go to Tesco (sadly owned by wal-mart we found out). We took the metro back to our hostel. Zach did an excellent job carrying the bulky fan through the metro (we had to make two transfers!).

Tonight we are going to check out Kampa park and an island park called Slovanskyostrov. Both of these are located by Sona which is apparently the American ex-patriot district.

Love you all!

Your room looks beautiful! Way better than my American dorm room.

I am glad to see you are getting the lay of the land and will have so much free time with Mom and I! You will be wonderful tour guides by the time we arrive.

Your dog leash comments reminded me that recently, John was looking through some baby pictures of himself and noticed in one shot of him at the age of 1 or 2 that he was leaning strangely. We noted that he must have been captured on the move, however, as we looked closer, we found - HE WAS WEARING A LEASH! That means that John is less well behaved than a Czech dog, but I think I prefer it that way. ( :

Can't wait to hear more and L-O-V-E the pictures. This new technology rocks.

Miss you!

Hello Jess & Zach! I love the blog. Seeing Jodi's simple user name of "Jodi", I now regret the choosing of my user name "Wilbur1997". I think I would prefer you call me "Cyber-Man-a-Tron-3000!"... or "Ben" is fine, too.

Anywho.

Your room looks great! Nice view! Keep the blogs coming! I love seeing what you are up to! And it gives me something to do at work (besides work).
